Composed by Andy Partridge, it's a very nice tune.

I've been an XTC fan since I was about 10 years old in 1978 and have been ever since. Now, and for the past several years, I teach this song to Year 12 students as a stunning example of layering/texture/polyphonic writing. In the coda there is at least 7 different melodic ideas simultaneously. It would make Bach proud. Besides all that, I just adore this music.

Another Partridge gem. Love the Nyman/Glass influence.

I love XTC. I hope their music is what I hear when I am dying someday.

This has been one of my favorite songs since I was a little girl. It just makes me purely HAPPY. I can't even explain it. It makes me want to just rejoice in life

This is outstanding for vivid structure and innovative orchestration. As an aside, I first heard this on WXPN, the NPR station for the University of Pennsylvania which nowadays I can stream via the Internet and pretend I am in Philadelphia. W.C. Fields nailed it with "I'd like to see Paris before I die! Philadelphia will do..."

Avid XTC fans waited 7 years for some new material after Nonsuch..and THIS is the first track that reaches your ears on Apple Venus. Blew me away.

Your ignorance is astounding, really, even for a 10 year old.

I don't know if I'd put Partridge at the same level as Zappa. Zappa was more diverse, but Partridge certainly pulls in a close second.

Partridge is the all time poet laureate of pop. God genius tempo, timbre, key changes, music and lyrics. If you could convert Michelangelo Bounarrati's works to sound, this is what it would sound like. Sublime in its genius. peer of Bach, Vivaldi or either Scarlatti.

Thank you. I also wish Andy Partridge would realise he surpassed McCartney about ... oh 35 years ago. Lyrically, musically, artistically. The only person he needed to surpass was himself. The only other artist I think Andy Partridge should say I wish I was as good as that is the other guy in XTC creating their art, and that's Colin Moulding. They both went far beyond Beatle comparisons years ago. And personally I don't think McCartney's done anything beautiful since Revolver.

He is an inspired composer - when I first heard XTC (Senses Working Overtime) I thought this is it! I sought out their previous album Black Sea which I soon came to love and will forever remember them with extreme fondness. Quite Billiant!

I wish Partridge were my father or at least a relative of mine, so that I could tell anyone and brag about it.

More than any other song I've heard from Xtc, this one sounds like a true even compilation between Andy and Colin; at least vocally.
