I think they had a good label push behind that first record. I remember MTV giving them lots of support too. They were everywhere for a short time with this song and it was good. Alas...they needed more hooks and hit songs. Tough Business Rock n Roll...

This band should've been humongous. Tommy Conwell & The Young Rumblers' familiar-but-fresh Classic/Roots/ Blues / Rock-Meets-Modern-Rock sensibility stood-out head-and-shoulders from the middle of the seemingly endless sea of Glam Metal. The band - and Tommy Conwell in particular - was a potent mixture of talent, attitude, and energy. What really makes this song unique to me is the way Tommy mixes quite disparate singing styles: Old Southern Black-Man Blues growling, with New Wave-inflected White-Boy Rock singing, and the respective same for his guitar playing. Although this single did score a well-deserved #1 spot on the Mainstream Rock Charts in 1988, its pithy #74 showing on the Billboard Hot 100 was disappointing at best, and was clearly indicative of the general public not being sure what to make of this blond-haired, blue-eyed 1980's rocker who sounded like B.B. King crossbred with John Eddie. Clearly a forgotten gem from 1988.

Much better heard than seen. Especially if you ignore the words.Good rock and roll, but these obnoxious brats sounded the official death-knell of rock. Recall that soon thereafter grunge infested the airwaves.

I was there to see that, But I did latter on ended up opening for his band out in California, in San Diego, and out in LA.ca.Yes I cherish and will die taking the memories to my grave when I die. I; to this day Can,t stop thinking of those 7 Days/ or the shows playing for them as a opening act what a life time event that was for me, and the band I was in at the time also. We Are So lucky that we had the moment to be there in real life with Tommy and the Boys( The Rumblers.) DITTO miss um.

Tommy. Hey I don,t think you ever read any of this stuff or posts from you tube, But back in 1987 Your band came out to San Diego/ and then to LA. The Whisky a GO GO. Your Manager Hired Our Band BOO COO to be your opening Act for the Shows you were playing while you were in town, and we opened for you. But I don,t think you will ever see this. My name was Robbie Boschetto, you had a hard time trying to say it right, so you gave up on my last name!! Robbie, and also Robbie H. #2 from the Hooters!

Bah, I know Tommy, Paul and Jimmy before this over-produced crap. They were the shit back in '85 and '86. 23 East, 38th, Ambler and Stone Balloon. Just raw energy and rock and roll. Just the three of them made so much music and entertainment. Tommy would crawl all over the place, I mean climb and jump over everything, all the while playing his guitar and not missing a beat. I cherish those memories. I miss them.
