I still have my vinyl of The Jeff Beck Group w/ Stewart on vocals (great blues voice) and have worn out or lost several CDs. Beck's a bad boy on that axe. Saw Jeff Beck in '68 when he brought The Jeff Beck Group to, of all places, Alexandria, Virginia at the old roller rink. They were the warm-up band for Big Brother and the Holding Company with Janis Joplin. Beck was amazing to listen to and his new singer, Rod Stewart, wasn't bad, at all. Beck, at one point, was doing barnyard animals on guitar. He was right good with the Yardbirds and I still enjoy listening to that music. Ah, memories.

only 8 likes for this song, it should certainly have a greater blues audience. Beck is a genius on guitar and I never use the word genius lightly. I hate when just any popular writer of inane is labeled a genius because they sell a lot of records, fuck that. Genius is when you can capture what no one can express in words, but still captivate people, with your art. I'm descriving of course artistic genius, not a genius for language. (sarcasim, mixed with the regret that that would come up)

This is so good!!! No wah, Jeff uses his tone control on his Tele, I reckon. Beautiful stuff and slide playing as well! I had more of these tracks years ago on a Charly LP of Yardbirds tracks recorded in Chicago, I think. This stuff is quality R&B.
