On this day in 1966 {March 13th} "Shapes of Things" by the Yardbirds entered* Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart at position #72; and eight weeks later on May 8th, 1966 it peaked at #11 {for 2 weeks} and also spent 11 weeks on the Top 100...Between May 1965 and November 1967 the British quintet had nine Top 100 records; with two reaching the Top 10, "For Your Love" at #6 in 1965 and "Heart Full of Soul" at #9, also in 1965...* The week "Shapes of Things" entered the Top 100, nearly one quarter of the Top 100 were records that were in their first week on the chart, exactly 24 records actually...
