This Mark/Roger part is soooo good. I feel like they're so much more self-actualized in this version.

I like this version SO much better on the Mark/Roger part. Wish they had kept it.

Love the mark-roger convo and its weird to see the "live a lie" part switched up with mark saying ita oubt himself. Mark x Roger forever!

Wow both this version and the final version of Goodbye Love are just great. I don't know if Mark beating himself up with Roger reassuring him that he's fine and he'll be back if he needs him and he loves him, or Mark and Roger beating each other up, but ending it with it clear that they still care about each other. Regardless this is definitely one of my favorite demo versions.

Mark telling himself off and roger backing him up. But it's still the same feeling throughout. Even though they aren't gnawing at each others faults, the tone and the feeling remains. I love how Jonathan Larson can do that.

I like that in the final version, Mark and Roger call each other out.

I really like this version, I just don't think it would have really fit in with the final narrative. Also in some ways I think the Mark/Roger fight shows just how much they care for each other. They know each other better then they know themselves & their fight reflects that. Plus, it clues the audience into why Roger's leaving in a way that this version doesn't accomplish. I really do wish they kept the "I love yous" though, they were really sweet & could have fit right in with the final song.

I almost like this version better than the one that it is now. I like the back and forth between Roger and Mark. They're not as angry with each other, and it shows how much the truly love each other and how much they need each other.

Other than the right brain stuff, great. But...I do like the other version better. And I agree with everyone else that Mark and Roger saying they love each other doesn't mean in a romantic way, but I think what Jon Larson ultimately did was to make saying this out loud unnecessary altogether. LOVE the way Roger says "Oh God Mark--don't you?" Great line, shows how much they rely on Mark to be the anchor. On the other hand, I prefer Roger accusing Mark instead of Mark admitting his weakness.

i no this is the off Broadway original and all but to be honest it just sounds awkward and weird i think the Broadway production was much better.
