Released May 30, 1966

What you tryin' do to my heart?

What you tryin' do to my heart?

You go around tellin' lies

You foolin' round with the other guy's

What you tryin' do to my heart?

You better run

You better hide

You better leave from my side

What you tryin' do to my soul?

What you tryin' do to my soul?

Everythin' I had was yours

And no I'm closing all the doors

What you tryin' do to my soul?

You better run

You better hide

You better leave from my side

I love you girl, I love you so

Can't you see it, don't you know

I can't stand you alibi

You're tellin' lies, and tell me why

What you tryin' do to my head?

What you tryin' do to my head?

Now I go my jaw out of line

You're not gonna take my mind?

What you tryin' do to my head?

You better run

You better hide

You better leave from my side

The first version I heard was Benatar's, and had no idea it was a Rascals song! I put this original, her version and Robert Plant's obscure version in my Rascals playlist. Thanks for uploading!

I figure Pat Benatar DID NOT originally write this - a GREAT ROCK song!

I was fortunate enough to be playing in a local rock band when this was on the radio. It was always a hit with the audience.

One of their better singles. and better than it's predecessor Good Loving. Pat Benatar made a good version too (and surprise, in the clip looking a lot better than Felix), but it's simply a powerful song.
