I want to personally thank all members of the Rascals for getting me laid endless times with this song on fullly cranked up back in the good old 60's as opposed to this present guide less and pointless generation.

Love this song! I used to do it years ago and would again if I had an organist. Can't imagine it without the organ!

Back before clubs had the kind of equipment for dancers to groove to a DJ..the clubs that featured dancing had bands...and when the chips were down, The Rascals tunes were great for that type of band..."Come on Up" was great to get the girls shimmy shakin'.

Nothing funkier then a howling Leslie and Dino kickin the shit out of that drum kit. Raw but just tight enough, with a little wobble. Long live the Rascals.

On this day in 1967 {February 12th} the Young Rascals performed an instrumental version of "Come On Up" on the CBS-TV program 'The Ed Sullivan Show'... Five months earlier on September 24th, 1966 the vocal version entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #43 and spent 7 weeks on the Top 100... It reached #63 on the Canadian RPM Tracks chart... R.I.P. Mr. Sullivan {1901 - 1974}...

So many bands I've seen. All the Young Rascals early stuff. The Castaways, The Wildweeds, The Sonics from Tacoma WA. Endless list.

there's a radio show, Saturday morning which plays obscure music from the 60's in the UK, part of Radio 2's programming. We all know the beatles, stones, doors etc. I caught the guitar solo as i started my car and managed to track it down to this song, love it !! I wonder how many other good bands from the 60's never get a look in because we're all so fixated with the above bands. I intend to find out

Dino was Mr.Machine in my mind. His robotic style and drumstick spins were ahead of it's time. I travelled on a number of buses and subways to get to see them in Action City in Brooklyn, I think that's what it was called, or maybe the Action House which I think was in nassau county. It was the 60's.Whatever, it was worth the trip. That heavy organ made them stand out from the crowd, not many groups using one that way then.
