The reason they gave is that Keli had to go because they wanted to go in a new emotional direction. The bit that really pisses me off however is that they never allowed this girl to step up to the plate. Artists don't just turn their backs on fellow artists like that without giving them a chance. She had a cute voice that at that time sounded innocent & adventurous, & I think she could have adapted her voice quite easily if they'd only given her a chance. But it seems they regarded her with a great deal of calumny & malice from day one however; I mean not letting her be interviewed on that Recovery show??? What the FUCK guys? You were only ever going to come off looking like assholes.I find this especially frustrating because I've looked for a female vocalist for 8 god damn years now, & I will love & praise her the day I find one! It's so RARE to find a girl who is willing to let you fulfill your dreams, & they could have given Portishead a run for their money.
