Track 8.
Songs Of Love And Hate (1996):
A very different approach and sound, leaving their metal sound behind that they've been known for. Yet again a third band member was included. Brian (brain) Mantia played live drums for the first time on a Godflesh record. He left before the tour, to be replaced by Ted Parsons of the band Prong. The band begins to incorporate more dance beats again and the drumming adds a lot to the sound.
Lyrics:
I'll give you space, as you chain me down
I won't let go, but you'll let me fall
I'll see your way, as you avoid mine
I'll give in, so you can walk on me
I'll close my eyes, so you can sew them shut
I'll keep the faith, or you'll crucify me
If I can believe, then you'll believe in me
