I'm 15 and I love to listen to, and play Duane Eddy. I wish there was musicians like him still recording today.

This was my favorite song when it was out. And the Movie was shown at my High School, every Spring. We'd get excused from 8th & 9th periods if we went. Duane Eddy was the reason I learned to play the guitar. When I first heard his 'twangy guitar' on the car radio -- maybe around 1956 -- I thought that's it, I HAVE to learn some day when I'm older. And I did, and still play, I have my new guitar out now, an 'ESP LTD-256FM LD' -- it's a beauty. :Rock On -)

I love the fact that he's using a six string bass guitar to play that gorgeously, righteously twangy lead axe on this. I've played this on a standard guitar, and the tone just doesn't have the cojones required here.

One of the loveliest instrumentals ever. The well-respected, talented B.B. King said of Duane Eddy that he was the finest guitar player ever!! From B.B. King that is quite a compliment. Thank you for this post.

Johnny Walker (still a DJ with the BBC] used it as his sig for years, from Radio Caroline in the 60's to the present day..

This has reduced me to floods of nostalgia! Nothing else evokes my final year in High School quite like this number. That was when I was young.
