I love how he turns even a simple cymbal demonstration like this into a well-developed, creative solo. What an artist.

It gladdens my heart to look at the comments and see people discovering Eric for the first time. The reason not everybody knows about him in mainstream circles (even though he's been in Modern Drummer) is that he's considered "jazz", though that's hardly all he does - funk, fusion, rock, hip hop, soul, jeez just RHYTHM. But Eric is literally probably one of the best ten drummers alive in any genre. Hardly anyone can do what he can.

I'm not crazy about this sound from hats. I prefer dark, dry hats.

I would never buy this cymbal. This video just show us how technically perfect is this man, nothing more than that. Please, memphisdrumshop, make a video that I can hear how this cymbal sounds

the sound reminds me of the Sabian compression hats, but with a dryer, airier open sound, and a crunchier closed sound. very interesting and unique! great playing from Harland as well.

Using two K.Cons 16 crash as hi-hats for about a year now. Love em, can really dig in for a solid groove. Great for playing any styles...use on my pop/country and jazz gigs too.

Great playi'n man! You are also inspiring to hear and watch! I just bought a pair of Zildjian Constantinople marching 16" from ARTDRUM and they sound cool 'a bit darker than I expected but' I'm on to that.. It's nice tryin to find sounds

Big thumbs up for the sound engineers, on all of Erick's videos (these are the ones I watched so..). The sound quality is excellent really ! I love how detailed, clean, and separated (sound wise) is each cymbal/drum. Keep up the good work !
