Love This Little Unknown Gem From 1966. Jay And The Americans Great Great Lead Singer Jay Black. All Of Their Songs Are Good. They Sort Of Have A Four Seasons Standard,They Won't Do A Song Unless It's Good.I Like That. A Lot Of Good Songs Turn Out That Way. Don't Just Sing Filler.Great Group. I Love All Of Their Songs.

One of the great "mid 8" breaks at 1.47. Mexican "Herb Alpert style " trumpets and harmony.

Being that it only hit #79 on the charts, it hardly counts as a 'hit' per say. But still a great song. As a side note, my father was the drummer on this song.

@UnionjackatHWP True enough but I knew it back in '66 so it wasnt really unknown. I cant understand why it wasnt a bigger hit for them

@smitheree Why wouldnt it be on Youtube?? Thats the problem. All these Djs putting white labels on stuff 'theyve discovered' so it pushes the prices up. Yeah ok Ive been guilty of it 2 times but I learned it wasnt good for the scene. And what with all these 50 year old fat geezers who used to goto wigan once in a blue moon and now have a few quid behind them paying well over the odds for tracks they couldnt afford back in their 'Glory Days' its fucking Northern Scene up once more. A real shame!

One of my all-time faves. Everything just works - great pop song that should have got wider expore. Wonderful harmonies, soaring vocals, great orchestration, fabulous complex strings ... and, of course, amazing Jay Black vocals.
