Gene's version was great, but so is this one, already because of the voice of jay Black and the added vocals in the background of The Americans..........very dynamic version

Yeah...I agree, but it could be because sentimental as we are....we favor all originals...especially if they are associated with a certtain period in our lives. But, wow, Gene Pitney, who by the way is another favorite of mine....and Jay Black could be related, they sound so much alike...

Fantastic voice of Jay Black (I think) of a terrific song. while I like(d) Urban Cowboy as a film, it (despite its setting) doesn't go as a backdrop to this song, because the song was about a truckdriver or some other traveler who just dropped by.
