We must post at least one XTC song a week. It's the law. :)

*FOR YOUR LISTENING ENJOYMENT ONLY*

What is the openVAULT you ask? It's quite simple. Music that for lack of a better analogy, has been locked away from the general public. What has happened to the musical landscape is sickening. Far too many artists go largely unnoticed. We are here to change that. To drive the point home, this will not be some "best of" list aka Rolling Stone. No "Stairway", no "Walrus", just music that should be heard. Here at openVAULT you're going to be forced off the beaten path more often than not.

It'll be good for you, trust us.

Every song you will hear is from our private collection, so please NO copying, downloading or reproducing these videos in any form for this is strictly prohibited. You know as in illegal, a no-no. As stated before these tunes are FOR YOUR LISTENING ENJOYMENT ONLY! We won't sell, trade, or give up any mp3s, so if you're here for that purpose please step aside, you're blocking the view of others.

I'm struck by how "current" this song feels. Ahead of its time. I could believe this came out in 2014.

N.S.A. knows Andy Partridge: he's a dirty counter-intelligence operative for the People's Republic of China. Traitor to the U.S.A. and possibly the U.K. Former MI5. Ice for blood.

I grew up in a South London concrete jungle. It wasn't until I met my MUCH better half that I started to explore Britain's green, fine and pleasant land. Everytime I am in a summer meadow or a seaside town on a dark overcast day XTC fill my mind. They are so much more than a "pop" group - they are the true representation of what being a member of our society is.

@Liam Jennings I'm not sure that's exclusive to aspergers syndrome, unless I have it and had no idea. Many eastern cultures show a mistrust in words having the capability to accurately portray emotions and thoughts. Nice first name by the way, I have the same.

@Joe doolittle I prefer to pronounce it letter by letter. Not entirely separate, but not a single flowing word.

I'm new to this band. Is it pronounced X-T-C or Ecstasy?

Hmmmmm..... I don't think I have ever heard a more accurate description of the ABSOLUTE frustration that every Aspergers person suffers when they try put their emotions into words.?? We feel so much in our hearts, but when we try to tell our loved ones about it.... there IS..... no language in our lungs. Thank you XTC.... you nailed it, as usual! ;-D

An Album of Masterpieces! 'Rocket From A Bottle' into this- one of the great transitions in the history of recordings. 'Rocket' is up there (with a handful of Beatles songs) with the most visceral 'I Just Met This Girl'-Songs ever written/recorded. There is a sense about this whole album, one of inevitability, destiny, that sadly has only been recognized by a few passionate witnesses. A truly amazing, relatively unsung, group- together and individually.

This song was used perfectly in an episode of Freaks and Geeks... the most underrated TV show of all time.
