The ever mind-expanding Wire. Odd notes, minor keys, uniquely textures chords, celestial synthesizer ambiences, stream-of-consciousness lyrics that can be personalized to the listener's sense of alienation, call-and-response effects with between the various instruments. Percussion always tight and commanding.

very early gay band too. i used to argue with people that only liked the early wire. i loved 'kidney bingos' and the raw punk wire too; they were very important musically to me.

wire are particularly brilliant because they were essentially two different bands. You had the miles ahead of its time punk and post-punk of Pink Flag, Chairs Missing and 154, and then Wire part 2 which gave us amazing songs such as this, Ahead, Point of Collapse, etc.

Hey- I just discover wire a few months ago- how much more of this is out there? it this what LSD is like? Seems too with it to be anything like a drug trip, but the words are really bizarre. What does this mean?

I'm currently learning to play this song on guitar. I just play along the record for that.
