IV is American rock band Winger's first album of new studio material since 1993's Pull. According to frontman Kip Winger, one morning he "just woke up and heard the new Winger record" in his head, knowing just what he wanted to do with it.[1] It was released in October 2006 on Frontiers Records. The album cover was done by Ethan Van Sciver.

Wasn't too enthusiastic about this album when it was released but slowly becoming one of my favorites.

Had this song come out by some pop band in their 20s with all the promotion and MTV gimmicks, this would have been a top 5 song on top 40. Absolutely no question. It's a masterpiece.

No, I mean composition level across all genres.

composition level you mean in ''rock'' genres, because composition shines much greater if you listen elsewhere and there are TONES of different exapmples i will not post here. This is plain good rock/balad music with a good voice (though that is not always the main ingredient for ''good'' music.

The level of composition on this album thrusts violently down the throat of everything else ever.

Winger's first two albums while fun didn't really show the talent of the band. Everything from Pull to the present (they were on hiatus for a number of years) has been great.

i first Saw Kip Winger do this song accoustically on an artist den program and i changed from a casual listener to an huge fan of his voice and his choice of material. This album version is even more amazing to listen too and really needs to be listened to loud to capture the power of the music and the words. Great stuff, Kip.
