This song sounds so beautiful. Does anybody know the meaning of the lyrics?

@ Harryhood... You really had me there; until you miss spelled the word whether. Its not like you miss spelled the word tho its more that you actually used the wrong word, and that, sir makes you a dope. (But if it was autocorrect then just forget what I wrote cause you are right on the $

i think you're wrong. It might be Deaner's thoughts about a night like you described, but not about the actual night it's self. See, the song is called "What Deaner Was Talking About", not "What Deaner Experienced". So if this song has anything to do with tripping, it's because Deaner had been talking about it, and then something happened that reminded the speaker (Gener?) of what he was talking about, causing him to question weather or not this thing is really what Deaner was talking about.

Yessir, whether it is or not, that's what it will be to me. First time I heard this song I had been up all night and felt pretty washed out myself.

I listened to this song in about '97 on a CD player (with "disk skip" shock-proof- which was like the death-knell of CD players) in Corpus Christi (the most laid-back town in Texas) while visiting my grandparents (who are now dead). It was so cool. I really remember it strong. The backyard was one of those novelty, small communities with tiny backyards, but the grass was lush as hell and super thick and I just remember laying down and listening and looking up at the clouds. Appreciate life.

ween is not broken up. Ween is just having a moment. Ween can't break up. We love them too much.

Ween has "broken up". I never got to see them live, but maybe sometime before either of them die they'll get together for a concert, and I'll be there.

I remember almost 20 years ago listening to this in the kitchen of a home my friends and I were renting. I remember thinking how beautiful this song was and that anytime I heard it from then on I would think of standing there in that kitchen knowing I could never return to that time and place. It a beautiful memory to me, of the best period of my life and sad in that those times are gone. That's exactly what this song is, beautiful and sad at the same time. I do think of that time when I hear it

I loved it when Ash covered this, they're my favorite band, but nothing beats the original!

Ween is something else to be a part of... when they are on... Austin, Stubs, topless girls got on stage.. it sounds trivial... it was religious.
