lol, I love how any ween video you go to the comments always become a VERY heated debate between Phish & Ween. And only those two bands for the most part. And most Phans appear to be accepting of Ween fans, while the latter seem to only shit on the former. Truth be told, this argument wouldn't come up in every Ween video if the two bands didn't have a METRIC SHIT TON in common as far as their demeanors, and to an extent, their sounds go. Gene has sort of hated on Phish before, sure, but that is clearly out of jealousy being that Phish's popularity towers over Ween's. Plus that is no reason for Ween fans to go out and hate on Phish. Just because they're a more popular band. And its also very obvious why Gene has said that before about Phish/ the jam band scene. Its because he KNOWS how successful that "scene" makes certain bands that can fit into and embrace it, and that he could have taken Ween in the same direction (i.e. doing more summer fests, etc), and made them far bigger, but he didn't, and if you ask me it was for the sake of image, and he will be forever bitter about his decision to stay out of that circuit, which, in my opinion would be very embracing towards Ween. There really is no reason for the hate. In fact, the only Ween fans i've ever known were HIPPIES and also die-hard Phans. So...just goes to show, all of this is really just ridiculous and Gener's just bitter and jealous.

Tired of phish fans saying everything they do is better than the original. This is far and away better than any roses phish has ever played. I even like phish. Apparently that's not enough. Loving cup... Better by phish than the stones bro! Fuck off

I found Ween long after Ive loved Phish, due to the cover of Roses, and now I love Ween. Have you guys trashing Phish even listened to anything live from the band? If you have any appreciation for musical improv then due yourself favor and do a simple search "phish roses are free 4/3/98" in the space above and see what you think. I like the original better, as with most covers, but seriously. If you like exploratory music check it. and I really dont understand the 'fuck phish' comments. if you dont like them whatever I dont care, not many people do. but why make such a negative comment to a band that gave a nod to your band by covering their song?And to whoever said something about Gene shitting on Phish, your putting words into his mouth. His comment was directed at the jamband scene as a whole. Which was pretty accurate. Cause Phish isn't lumped into that category if youve ever really listened to them.

I think I need rehab for my addiction to this whole concert. in my opinion chicago 2004 is the pinnacle of ween. drummer Claude is an amazing addition to the band. I love observing the evolution of weens music, at this point their old songs still retain their "brownness", but they continued to mature musically, and this show is the perfect combo of brown and musical maturing, if that makes any sense to anyone else, lol
