I have heard from more than one person who saw them live that they put on an incredible show.

Rocknroll machine. What a great song ! I love the riff and the quiet bit particularly. Thanks for posting that, NICE ONE !

Great track on a generally disappointing LP, compared to "Why Dontcha". It's a pity the band didn't last long though. If only.......

Loved them the moment I heard them in 1972. Loved the "Whatever Turns you on" album and was quite crushed to hear that they broke up and there would be no tour to support the LP. In the Jack Bruce bio there is a whole chapter devoted to W.B.+L. It's quite a wild read, those were crazy days and unfortunately things like what happened to and for them will likely never be repeated. Like the huge bidding war that broke out to sign them. Man what a trip!

I dunno. I thought there was something not quite authentic about Leslie Weinstein (played at Forest Hills High school a lot with a group called The Vandals) back then, and hearing this years later, it still sounds... "not quite." The lyrics are soulless, for one thing. His licks sound like he listened to one Cream cut over and over and just imitates it.

Seen them in "72 on my 18th B-day and relate to this song because of the lyric: been around since '54, but goes like a '73. 19 years of RnR then going on 56 now and it still sounds good.

In many ways, I consider WBL to be the logical extension of Mountain going after the departure of Felix Papallardi in '72.

Moreover, Rockin Rollers back in the day used power chords but not on every song. The vocals was natural ( know enhancers ) A lot of metal nowdays sounds angry, you can't make out the vocals, some of the music sounds evil. But rockin roll back in the day was pure and clean check out Cream, Hendrix. it was not so distorted like todays music. we need to get back to that.

Nothing beats a three man band. It forces the guitarist and or all to sing and play. It forces the guitarist to play melody and chords. The group has to be consicous of accents, dynamics, and note values. In most big bands folks have to play less and use a lot of instrumentation which musicains hide behind.

Sadly overlooked. The best next to Mountain of course, and two third are Mountain.
