To the haters,judging this version of the song very negatively. I don't know? I thought it was pretty obvious that this was just a quickly thrown together,un-polished, low-fi,home demo,that was probably just recorded alone by Rivers? It sounds pretty obvious to me that it sounds more like one of the unpolished home demo recordings that can be found and heard on one of his Alone series release no? So, to judge this version as if it is the best they can do or as if it is even the full band Weezer at all, I think is a rather unfair assessment and judging of the song. It's definitely not some definitive much more polished sounding full Weezer band version of the song. If the band wanted to, I'm sure that they could have very easily recorded a full band,much more polished high quality version of this song akin to what can be heard and found on their limited Xmas E.P. released a few years ago. I think there is something to be said with this particular version and its real striped down,rather low-fi and rather raw approach; that I think makes it rather special,as opposed to most of their songs which typically always gets that same really,big and thick overdriven Alt. Rock guitar treatment. This striped down approach I think really fits the song well. As for the actual opinion of this particular demo version... Perhaps it was recorded too prematurely? Although,from what I have heard his Japanese still isn't the greatest, I would at least be willing to bet that in the several years since recording this song that his continued studying of the language has somewhat improved his speaking prowess as evident and demonstrated while listening to the album he released with Scott Murphy a couple of years ago that featured almost all of the vocals entirely sung in Japanese. So,something tells me that if he were to re-record a new,updated version of this song we might hear it sung with much more confidence and with much less of a Westerner's accent?

i'll give them props, they gave a nice Boa song a try. While not really in my opinion that great sounding, its still a good effort. Added in their own flair for it making it sound more American then Japanese definitely is pretty interesting. As for the their Japanese, I wonder if they're into Japanese music, they sound pretty alright pronouncing it but definitely not their second language...haha. Downloaded it anyways.
