I love this guy! Thanks for sharing. Linda's version was huge here and I loved it immediately. Got into Warren Zevon with the Excitable Boy album (which I still love) and stumbled on his version of the song much later when I wanted to cover the song. I'll put it up at some stage but it's acoustic so it will sound different again. It's just a good song. RIP Warren. Cheers!

This and the Ronstadt covers have such a different tone but are both so great.

Warren Zevon, could write and sing so well. Very underrated. Too bad his personal life was so messed up with booze, drugs, whores, and his personal demons. As he said, "I will sleep when I am Dead". His biography is worth reading.

words can't express how in touch warren was with life even if his was to be cut short, men who live their lives on the edge know what being alive is and it's WORTH. Some will never gather the true meaning of existence and how it should be spent. To those foolish enough to waste their own short time traveling a path led by a false god, will never understand that they wasted their moment to enjoy the life that the true god who never was really there gave them. I am so happy i am me and i believe in nothing but me. I am so happy i am in touch with reality and abuse myself every chance i get. The only true way to live. When it's over it's over and not until you come to that realization you will never quite grasp what being alive offers. Follow no one believe in yourself, buy nothing and spend all your $ on good times. memories will keep you alive and get you through the ruff times, objects mean nothing and materialistic people live shallow, hollow lives. It's not things a person owns and leaves behind that makes a man or a woman. it's what comes out of your mouth when you express to another what you have done, places you have visited, the things that you have done, the people you have met, that make a REAL person. Meet the losers at the best bars-meet the winners at the dives. Warren Zevon is such a brilliant man words cannot express what his existence, ever so brief has meant for the few who get IT. I cried the day it was announced he had passed. For only 1 reason. This being. I know deep down inside he did not live long enough to teach me how to die without fear. Warren was not scared of his own mortality. His songs suggest this and his actions demonstrated it. he was no marine or a tuff guy in that sort of manner. Warren was a MAN. sorry about the spelling im drunk
