Thank you Warren ! Excuses for the stupid from the stupid! Kind of like parents in denial of their "crap" offsprings! They are just excitable boys n girls !!!

Some of you just don't get it. A transgression from child to man, like Warren discovered life was like in the music industry. He wanted out, he knew what it made of artists, yet making music was his life.

Song also serves as an interesting commentary on how tolerant modern society is of crazy people. They make excuses and say "oh he's just an excitable boy" or whatever until he kills someone.  Back in the old days, they'd throw you an an asylum if you seemed crazy.

What a great song this is! In my opinion, there are few things more enjoyable in this life than a happy and bouncy sounding song about a psychotic who rapes and murders someone. It really restores your faith in humanity, doesn't it? Works for me.

I remember my dad and I used to listen to Warren Zevon in the car when I was little It was usually just Werewolves of London but one day this song came on (I was around eight at the time) and I was bobbing my head and enjoying the song when the third verse played i did a double take and I remember thinking 'Well that took a turn.'

I grew up listening to Warren Zevon because my parents listened to him, and listening to this song now, I'm really thankful that I just want to write about serial killers instead of becoming one.

Warren got a lot of bad press with this song. He never intended the lyrics of murdering and raping a woman in the 3rd verse to be taken literally. Many women were appalled by the lyrics of this song. But if you know anything about rock history or of Zevon being The Everlys' road manager, you would never know this song was a parody as were most of Warrens' songs. He wrote allot about death, although he did not want to die himself like Jim Morrison. Warren was just too intelligent for many of his songs to be thoroughly interpreted properly. When you have an IQ of 160, and you are a rock star, what do you write about. Songs perhaps about history like"Vera Cruz", lovely ballads  about love lost like "Hasten Down The Wind". Or even song about sports like "Hit Somebody" or "Boom Boom Mancini". And finally the most beautiful song about heroin addiction ever written, "Carmelita". What a genius he was.
