I am huge fan of this late great singer songwriter and got everything including the albums that didn't do a great deal but for me he will be remembered for great deal more than werewolves of London

Waddy Wachtel's guitar break in this song is on my list of favorite solos; tasteful and tuneful. And I agree 100% with Tristanandlsolt's comment: the Excitable Boy LP is an underrated classic. I saw Warren Zevon live in '78 when that album was really popular, at the outdoor Universal Amphitheater in LA. It was a beautiful summer night and he play and played, until they actually pulled the plugs on the amps. So Zevon invited the people who were still there to come down to the front so he could play one more: "Hasten Down The Wind", just him on the piano with no microphone. 36 years later it is still one of my all-time concert moments ever.

This song is a great tribute to when Johnny (Lennon) reunited with the other Beatles, is my take, but not to be.....unfortuneately.

Excitable Boy is one of the best Albums ever made and this is one of the best from the album. An under-recognized song.

Thanks, Warren, for writing "Outside Chance" for The Turtles, and this gem. One of the greatest singer/songwriters of the 20th century. This one should go to a movie soundtrack (if it hasn't already, that is). For my best pal from my youth (Jimmy W. -- RIP). For Little Steven's Underground Garage.

Mr. Zevon doesn't get the credit he deserves.

Love this as it reminds me of this, Zevon's first album where he actually became noticed big time. WOULD SOMEONE PLEASE UIPLOAD " Nightime in the Switchin' Yard" from this very same album? l
