back-up vocalists don't get enough credit, they can sink or swim a song. Van Halen is #1 all-time w/ that (at least, w/ Michael Anthony around); AC/DC close second in that dept.

i had the same problem as you, it just seemed too fast to be able to tap so smoothly given the cords, then some guy with a tutorial on here enlightened me, i am only a messenger :)

You are totally right shinobi , I just had to find the perfect timing on the delay and it sounds 100% better....I was just ready to scream because I couldn't get it right for way too long!

heres a tip: delay. its actually really easy to play and without delay it sounds like a teenager trying to learn a song, very start and stop in ways that sound like someone is trying to orient fingers, but its waiting for the delay, but thats part of the genius, the delay is placed just so to make it sound like one flowing melody

When they start singing the Chorus, it kinda reminds me of The Police "De Do Do Do De Da Da Da"

So true ...and that intro is a bitch to play if you want to make it sound authentic!

Yeah this is yet another example of why Van Halen are not really back. Michael was always an integral part to the real Van Halen and I have never seen them since they did what they did to him. Miss you Mike!
