If I understood correctly there was a second studio l.p. recorded with Gary Cherone (whomi also love) a couple of years after this in the year 2000. It was never released because of the perceived cold response from the Van Halen community which might have been correct as being as such BUT I still think if they had stuck with it for some more l.p.s and tour I bet the die hardship would have come around at least on some level.

Gary is a great singer that gets way too much shit put on him . yes I agree he came at a bad time but you tell me what were they suppose to do huh? dave was busy being a ass, and they had lost Sammy so they had no choice but to find a new singer and I think van halen 3 while not there best was still a desent album without you is great and so is the song fire in the hole . no afence meant dave but I would rather listen to this song from van halen 3 than that piece of shit tattoo. I like all the singers from van hallen but Sammy remains my favorite.

Fans were already miffed at VH before Cherone was even considered for the job. Once it became known that David was not returning to the band after the appearances and the release of the Greatest Hits album, in which Dave sang, people felt let down. Even if they had mended fences with Sammy and brought him back, it would've only taken the edge off at best.

eddie and alex screwed up when they fired Sammy and made it a family affair.as far as gary is concerned I think he has a good voice but not very good lyrists. van hagar was the best. PERIOD.
