VH is Eddie's band - he's the true creative force behind it all : song writing, the guitar licks and chops to pull them off ( and backup vocals and keyboards too ). Everyone else made their contributions and they are all undoubtedly ( very ) significant but it all goes away without Eddie.

DLR would never do anything with a "hired gun"- contract. Back then, VH needed him badly to make a restart after all what happened - but Dave needed them, too. So both have known exactly what was to do. In my opinion his actual role in VH is underrated. He just makes it his way, apart from Azoff. But they have grown up, the machine works, they are getting along very good and they now have this special chemistry which will last till the end of VH, nobody can shock them (not even Spammy).
