Ya, I see why, its kind of an aquired taste. DLR was more rock and roll, whereas with Hagar they swung more towards the Power Ballad style songs. Which was kind of strange since neither artist really wrote any ballads before they collaborated. I agree, more of a DLR fan myself, but I think Van Hagar still had some pretty sweet songs, like poundcake, dreams, or Love Walks in.

if you any of you rats hate reading because i know i do but anyways i recommend reading a book called RED by Sammy Hagar, he tells everything from when he was a kid and when he was in Van Halen and why they kicked him out because Eddie was always such a dick and a bossy rat, and when your done reading it your going to think that Sammy Hagar is one of the most bad ass guys ever ,and he is. read it

I am an undiscriminating VH fan. I like Sammy's voice better, but the guitar style is better in DLR era Halen. What gave Sammy era VH a bad name was 5150, too many love songs and kind of soft. Not crazy about nearly all songs off that album except "Summer Nights", The new album is my least favorite of albums with DLR, wish they had done better. A couple of songs are decent, but can't really get into it.

The band was great when this song was produced, too bad the VanHagar era didn't have more songs of this magnitude, instead of all those LOVE LOVE LOVE songs. As for Edward Van Halen, he needs to have his ego chopped off and learn humility, he's no better of a human being than the rest of us on Earth, he needs to learn that his alcoholism has inhibited his life and his character. God help him!! '
