UFO - 'Money, Money' from the album "No Place To Run"

Lyrics:

Well I'm down, face tomorrow

I drown in this fool's sorrow

I hear the lies, who I choose

No alibis, never a trace I'm blue

* well I'm not so proud

Baby I can see

You take my money

And you're laughing at me

**(I ain't no clown) (money money)

And you're no debutante

I wanna give

How much do you want

*** money

Look what you've done to me

Money

Hope on a third degree

You're so dumb

You got all the protection

Number one

You only intend to clown

(repeat***)

You're so cool

Playing glamour glamour

Full of school

But still in emerald

(repeat***)

(repeat*)

(repeat**)

Money money you think I can't see

Take it all and you're laughing at me

(repeat**)

(repeat*** twice)

Schenker was a fantastic guitarist with UFO, he also has a brilliant solo career going, but Paul Chapman stepped into so pretty big shoes and definitely managed to fill them! He made some really awesome albums with UFO and I love UFO with both of those guitarists! - Sarge :P

@ Mr. Smokeydog Agree!!! There is a clear cut difference between Mr.Chapman and Mr. Schenker vast in styles and persona. Yet , simply put UFO era for the two has a special place for their fans! Good analogy you are on the mark. UFO ROCKS!!!!

Totally agree

Schenker and some rare others were somewhat introverted though, and obsessively compulsive about playing guitar all the time, Eddie VH was the same way, and Jimi reportedly slept with his guitar at time, it was attached at the hip! Social life events were never as important as playing guitar for them. Chapman is their second best guitar choice I'd say

Don't forget for a short time in 1970s, and in the earliest incarnation of the band, it was Mick Bolton on guitar.

for sure, and latest album shows them still producing excellent work - burn your house down, wonderland, class act - should be in the rock and roll hall of fame

yeah but being a great guitarist alone dosent make a great songwriter. (Hendrix being the expeption ) Clapton made maybe three great albums in his life Rhoads found the perfect fit with Ozzy and its as part of the fit that people will remember his music . Point is UFO in their prime wrote great songs regardless of who was doing the guitar

As a song its in the same league any day any year. As a guitarist Chapman might not be in the same league as Schenker thats a different thing altogether. The thing is UFO were still churing out memorable melodies and riffs long after Schenker left. I cant think of one Schenker solo number that is as memorable as this.

Great song from the Chapman era, not in the league as Schenker, but very good nonetheless.

@MetallicBill That was meant to say Chapman was not on those two Ain't MisBehavin' and MisDemeanor in 1985 onward, he did play with Waysted though

@bluerfoot Chapman was on the two albums with Atomik Tommy McClendon or with the other two, Archer I recall,? High Stakes and Dangerous Men followed up before UFO tried reforming in 95

Paul Chapman's debut, I was there....well, when the album released, I was then a UFO fan who missed the Schenker era except to enjoy it on LP!! Pete Way quickly got disheartened with the keyboard and sax added to the UFO sound, they were pretty tight in the old days, but they proved keys DID work in the 70s for their style, it just got a bit much at one point. No disrespect to Neil, of course
