Great song and album, very underrated and it's held up very well. Remember seeing this tour at the Ampitheater in Chicago with Saxon opening. Great memories, fortunate to see them play many times. Favorite show was Obsession tour also at the Ampitheater in 78 which ended up on Strangers. Schenker era is untouchable, however, Tonka was great also.

Thankx for the post. I thought this was the best post Schenker UFO album. Galloping guitars on this song and Phil's lyrics were very romantic throughout most of Mechanix. As poppy as they ever got. Never knew it was on MTV but not many people had cable back then. I saw them twice in 3 months after this release, Once w/Saxon and second time w/Rainbow. This album had the commercial appeal while still rocking out but some agent, somebody's got to push it. Always underrated band. Great.

Fuck me but UFO are out...fuckin...standing. Mechanix is in my opinion their best work. Rock craftsmen at their collective best. Clean, sharp, hard riffs. Great lyrics and vocal melody. Just the best at what they do. This song gives me goosebumps. Try "We belong to the Night and Doing it all for You" from the same album

I've lived in Boston since '88. I just can't believe there's someone else here that waited by their tour bus that night! I remember those days so well....Neil Carter was all hyper (coked up?) jumping all around saying, "Jolly Good!" after every picture....Donnie Iris opened the show. I had to climb under the stage during his set to get my coat. It fell down there after security kicked us outta the isle in front of the stage. He kept yelling at me while I was under the stage! It was pitch black!!

dude...you just blew my poor, deeply-fried mind!! I was at that show!! I had my pics taken with each band member that night, but I remember Phil got right on the bus and bummed me out....I'm from Elkhart -where are you from?

Excellent song but schenker could always tear up the guitar waaaaay better than chapman. I wonder what a combination of chapman and schenker would've produced?
