This was at the Rodeo Exchange in Ft Worth TX (1993) before Ty signed with Epic Records. We were, of course, in the night club circuit back in those days and doing mostly cover tunes with a few originals thrown in once and awhile. This one is Ty singing "What Kind Of Fool". Hope you like it. By the way, the band was Ty Herndon (vocals), Darin Johnson (lead guitar), Jim Lindsey (pedal steel guitar), Jay Brown (keyboards), Randy Jeter (bass guitar) and David Pinkston (drums).

Hi, Scott ... only just noticed your comment ... yep, that was my black 1976 Emmons that I got from Gary Hogue. It was his first Emmons (he bought it new in Oct 1976) and I bought it from him in July 1991. I really miss that guitar!12 years ago

I believe Lionel Cartwright is the major artist you're thinking of who had a hit on this song. If I remember correctly, this song did receive quite a bit of air play and did become a hit, but it was mainly intended an excellent filler tune from his 1991 album "Chasin' The Sun". At the time we were doing this as a cover tune in the clubs, it was the Lionel Cartwright arrangement we were following with a little embellishment of our own mixed in.
