The word tourniquet means to help aid something and the lines were saying for god to help her (tourniquet) survive her suicide.:) It's kinda hard to explain haha

Amy has said that it was referring to a debate in Little Rock at the time it was written about whether someone who commits suicide has committed a sin. It was written for Rocky's Xian rock band originally. Confusion about the issue is part of the point, I think. I believe this was in her interview with Spin about the time the following album came out but I could be mistaken. This song is largely why people thought Evanescence was a Xian band initially.
