Obviously you cannot compose lyrics like this without thinking of God many of Evanescence songs touch on the subject ,that's why they spark these meaningless debates ! Who didn't like religious people that would be Jesus of course !! The religious people of his day he called "Pits of Vipers". Religion sucks it is not a way to God but an obstruction no amount of preaching will ever change that. All i ask of anyone is to have an open mind and don't confuse God with religion ,religion is man-made God is not !!

Salvation is thru God's only Son- Jesus. He was born to die for our sins. Man and religion has made it so complicated. Jesus taught simply. The gospel of Jesus Christ says that we are all in need of a Savior. It doesn't matter how "good" we can be. We can never be as good as God. Therefore, He made a way to escape eternal separation from Him: Jesus. His self sacrifice paid for our sins. And everyone sins. So everyone needs Jesus.
