Every musician is unique, Jeff Porcaro was exceptionally gifted, Simon is also one of the very best drummers in the world, and in my opinion he was the best choice as successor. It would have been worse if it had been someone else and worst would have been someone trying to copy Jeffs Style. This was the best possible solution, and we got many great Toto songs and many very good performances because it went this way. There is no reason to say it was not Toto -like anymore. They're still my favs.

The original band was superior. Together they were perfect. But without Jeff Porcaro it does not sound like Toto. He was the backbone of the band.
