the Hollies: the tightest, fastest, sharpest rock band that ever was.i saw Chuck Berry live in the '70s on sunset strip, i forget the name of the club, famous club, packed crowd; he is the king; he is a genius.but the Hollies bring a new energy here, faster, more enthusiastic than even the King Chuck Berry. The Hollies were genius too.

Nobody can touch the original Chuck Berry version of this - or any of his other songs. Hail, Hail, Rock n Roll - he is the father of it all - I dare you to try watching one of his concerts - live at the Roxy and others on here youtube - if you watch a little then you will be watching him all night!

Cool song. Allan's got some footwork going there. Mick Jagger, Steve Marriott would do the same thing at this time. Allan holds his own. Shindig was a cool TV show. Haven't met anyone old enough who watched it regularly on TV. Anyone?

Nash's gaffe at 1:17 was something I'd have expected from David Crosby!

I'm just wondering why they insisted on hiding Eric Haydock on the far left.

I really love this track. One of my favorites! My hobby is to rediscover all those great bands from the 60s that didn´t "reach the highest level" in contrast so The Hollies. Believe me - it´s a fantastic music treasure. Listen (youtube) for example to: THE ZETTLERS and their versions of "Skinnie Minnie" and "Beautiful Delilah". Awesome - with a bloody driving beat. THE GOLLIWOGS and the tune "Tell me". Check up the singeer - yes, it´s him!!
