what's cool about this version is how they incorporated their feel from the Herb Albert instrumental version.I don't get people being so obsessed by "which version is better?" Comparing this to The Beatles' or Lenny Welch's version is almost like comparing different songs. This simply an example of how the best songwriting lends itself to different approaches.

Bien es sabida mi afición por Los Beatles, no obstante me agrada encontrar versiones de temas que ellos interpretaron y que considero mejores o novedosas en otros grupos... tal es el caso de "A taste of Honey" interpretada por Los Hollies en vivo, en un programa de televisión (sin playbacks, ni trampas tecnológicas). Dejo el video o enlace acá, y si conoces el tema podrás juzgar si existen o no razones para considerarla una mejor versión que la interpretada por los cuatro de Liverpool (de hecho ese tema tampoco es de ellos pero incluso fue grabada en sus producciones). Como nota final les comento que Los Hollies grabaron una versión de "If I needed someone", la cual llegó detrás de la ambulancia y paso sin pena ni gloria, lo cual trajo discusiones entre John Lennon y los Hollies (un tema "Beatle" que al no ser tocado por ellos simplemente paso por debajo de la mesa)

The Hollies lost a bit of their vibrancy when Nash left. Nash was neither the lead singer (that's Allan Clarke) nor the lead guitarist (that's Tony Hicks), but he was the de facto leader until he lost a power struggle as to their musical direction. Yes, the band scored a couple of their biggest hits after Nash left, but within a few years it did eventually fall into a cabaret act.
