I wonder why all these people who sing on their side projects sound like Phil Collins?Anyway I like this song better than the Who's stuff.

This is one of my favorite albums, actually. I posted the video for this song some time back, but this is the full version of the song. One of the highlights of my life was being front-row to see the Who in 1996, right in front of Entwistle--maybe 15 feet from one of the few actual icons in my life. Roger was the voice, Peter was the mind, Keith was the heart. John was the soul of that band to me, and the first one I noticed all those years ago, with his effortless mastery of his instrument. I screwed myself as an aspiring bass player by wanting to emulate him. Hopeless. The Who, to me, was a dead issue after that night twelve years ago. The remains of the band soldier on and make really great music, but it's just not the same. I never got to formally meet you, Mr Thunderfingers, Mr. Big Johnny Twinkle, but I miss you.

This song would have worked great for the end credits of Scorsese's "The Departed". The appropriateness is almost uncanny.
