A lot of people dismiss this early ('74) Waits album saying he was still in his 'ballad singer' phase. I don't care - Side A starts out with this song and goes strong the whole way. I think 'Semi Suite' is the only song on the album I like more; although they are all gems. 1973's 'Closing Time' is good too, but not as good as 'Heart of Saturday Night.'
