Wow flashbacks. If you remember the 60's, then you weren't there.

*Bottle of Wine Fruit of the Wine*Been awhile since I've posted for fun. Sometimes life is just that way and that should be explanation enough, don'tcha think? No one wants to hear sad stories and tales of woe, so I'll spare and say, we started the weekend early this fine Friday with a bottle of wine. Me and _My Gal Sal are headed out to see a summer stock version of "Les Miserables" featuring one of her students. In my absence, I hope you enjoy this rendition of "Bottle of Wine."

Wonderful song! First song I have learned well enough to play for friends and they love it! (not my voice of course :-) )

Hehehe... Actually I only knew Graeme Allwright’s French version so far; it’s great to hear the original. I don’t think people who discover the original French version of “My Way” are so happy (search for “Claude François, Comme d’habitude”).

The Fireballs had a number nine hit in 1968 with this tune. Tom Paxton wrote it and tells how he had to learn it all over again!Tom Paxton - "Bottle of Wine"

@hanterkant: FYI— "Graeme Allwright (born November 7, 1926) is a singer-songwriter. Born in Wellington, New Zealand, he moved to France in 1948. He began to perform and write folk songs a few years later and was eventually signed by Sonogram. *****In the 1960s, he translated into French a number of songs written by Leonard Cohen, Tom Paxton and Pete Seeger. He remained active through the 1970s.******"
