I first heard this song on a rerun of American Top 40 with Casey Kasem that was broadcasted on the 1970s Sirius Music Channel when I had DirecTV. It was rerun from 1972. I loved this song so much that I had to find it on YouTube. I have an album of the Fifth Dimension, but, unfortunately, this song isn't on it.

the first time i heard this song was on a greatest hits album it was a live version though i had never heard the studio version, another great song that did not get air play

The clip of them singing this live back in 1971/72 is great. The look they give one another while singing it is great as well. Like Billy says, "What comes form the heart, goes to the heart." This must've been one of those kind of songs for them.

I know what you mean. I came here via 'Wikipedia' which lists this track as having been sampled on 'That Thing'. I thought it would've been the horns or something - but nothing jumps out at me. The piano chords sound like the ones used on 'That Thing', but using the same chords wouldn't warrant a 'sample' credit to my mind. Maybe if the horns were louder in the mix we'd hear something more obvious. But I'm none the wiser from listening to this.

One of their very best. Pulled out a few old LPs to listen to while cleaning and changing things around and wha-la.....Had to get online afterward and share. What a killer song. This was really good shitske back in the day, heh?

tstanding vSome real musicianship, specifically the bass and drums and combined with Billy's and Marilyn's lead vocals, well this song sent me over the edge with my first real boyfriend. Just wanted to slow drag with him, be close to him. so glad I grew up with a sense of real music and talented musicians and vocalists.
