lovingly referred to as the 'drunk show',san rafael 1987. a rare treat to hear one of todds greatest songs performed live. even if he is a little inebriated.

What a rich life a person must have, to have someone as Todd around. He's so nice in every perspective.....

I'm an old fan and I had the entire bootleg video of this show which was about 2 1/2 hours. I thought he was great! I saw him in Cleveland at the Nautica Stage that tour on August 29, but he was about sober then, and it rained. I loved this show. He just rambled on, and the bit with the rubber chicken was a riot. I think he was hammered by the time he got around to playing The Wheel. He couldn't stop laughing :^))

OMG: He screws up in exactly the same place as the 1971 WMMR show. Gotta love it!!

I was at this show! Some people hated it...I loved it. Awesome! I gave Todd a pick to use for "The Wheel"

I've always thought about how AWESOME it would be to hear him do the entire "Ballad" recording live, in which he'd switch back and forth from guitar to piano.....one can dream, right?!

They got good drugs up there in Marin County, and the alcohol harvested apparently ain't bad either!

What an excellent, sweet version of The Ballad... Reminds me of why I got into Todd back in '71. Does anyone else remember 'We've Gotta Get You A Woman' released on Ampex Records, the single was attributed to what I thought was a band, 'RUNT'? Flip-side was the 'Laura' medley! Excellent video clip!

"Ballad..." , maybe the most underrated Todd album in his "catalog".

Me too.....I always thought Todd was the total package. A great song writer , musician, and vocalists . Sometimes his lyrics were so deep ,But then he would do other stuff that would be so fun and crazy. You'ld have to be as mad as a hatter .....

Thanks rundgrenfan! Terrific! In 1987 that song was already an old hidden classic, and it still stands up today.

He might be half-in-the-bag,but his vocals are on!there's something especially Beatle-esque about this tune. Thanks again, rundgrenfan!
