A lot of artists create similar sounding music, this is not always intentional. There is a limited amount of chords, therefore there are bound to be similarities. Listen to I Dissapear by Metallica and The Nomad by Iron Maiden, or Lit Up by Buckcherry and Shock Me by Kiss. Also when artists and record companies know that something sells, they reproduce it. I.e. almost every pop-country band around, a lot of ACDC/Airbourne-esque bands, Taylor Swift, or artists that try to act like Cash or Waylon.

Not a radio friendly hit while a great song they were afraid the supposed reckless vehicular manslaughter would like the river and me on let it go would stir up to much controversy like his 2002 single Red Ragtop caught so much shit over the songs content of abortion.
