Leo Sayer's live version copied Chuck's studio style with the severe voice.

A major miscue. Embarrassing, in fact.

This song describes my life perfectly.Every line. Oh every line.I've done my time, fallen oh so far behind.and lost my mind... Oh, Why?But, I must let the show go on.

A friend and I saw TDN back in the early 70's. Cory, Danny & Chuck came out dressed up in clown outfits for this song. I had so much fun at this concert, more than most. Needless to say a good time seemed to be had by everyone. :)

Too bad the heroine use was out of control by 1974. Great clip, though!

Went back and listened to Leo Sayers version and it was good. But once we are comfortable with a group, like I was with 3 dog night, it seems hard to go with something else.

That note Chuck hits at the two minute mark is amazing!

Don't really get why this has more than double the views of Leo Sayer's version. Occasionally, covers are better than the original, but that is not the case here. Leo Sayer's performance and delivery are in a different league.
