Does anyone know where I might be able to find a copy of this concert? One of the (many) downsides to "illegal" downloading is that classic music such as this has now become virtually impossible to find copies of. Youtube rips are all well and good, but no matter what sound quality you choose on YT the downloaded files always sound tinny.I shall continue the hunt, internet boundaries be damned!!!

A vintage live performance here. This was for me his best song. His earlier material was original and of a very high quality. Somehow I feel he became too middle of the road pop later which was a great shame and a great loss. The voice still good the songs still good but could not compare to the unique talent from those earlier days.

Remember first seeing this on The Old Grey Whistle Test in the 70's. Unique at the time and still stands the test of time. Brilliant song

Dave you couldnt have said it ANY better! Raw, enticing and uninhibited storytelling that pulls you in, in to a place of connection and escape. The times when songs were relateable and wld move you and/or cover ya in goosebumps... Todays generation has no clue of artists with genuine talent and performance & entertainment skills. Its all yelling, jumpin around, melodies by computer or synthesiser...! The song ALWAYS remembers when.

I've been a life long Leo fan. Until you've seen him Live, you haven't seen him! Even in his 60's, he's still as tuneful and energetic. He's still touring and is also more than happy to have a photo with you after a show. True Gent!

I have never heard this before. Leo sings great, but Chuck Negron's vocal was way better on this particular song. Much more force, no falsetto needed, more feeling & more guts, also like the 3DN music & vocal harmony production better. This is not unusual as 3DN redid many artists songs better than the writers did originally. They also helped many songwriters/performers become known (or better-known) in the industry & in the public eye after they did their songs.

There are a handful of great British performers who have left an indelible mark on the music landscape, but some were never given the due recognition their talents deserved, Leo Sayer being one such artist, this must be one of the all time great performances of a song, I remember seeing this when it was first released, and you knew you were witnessing a great talent, the scatting midway through the song is brilliant, the whole song puts you right in the middle of the character's torment, absolutely brilliant.
