It's two of three, though Helen wasn't with the popular line up of Sheila, Valerie, & Fayette, she is one of the Original Members along with Fayette. Helen and Sheila came after Valerie and the other member (name escapes me right now) left. Fayette, Sheila, and Helen are the well-known trio when the Three Degrees really took off. Cynthia Garett came later when Sheila left and the trio became Helen, Valerie, & Cynthia. Cynthia left for health reasons, but was a Degree for many years. Fayette had left earlier and Valerie came back and yes Helen's voice has changed since the earlier days. The trio is now Helen, Valerie, & Freddi Poole.

Cindy was NEVER a replacement for Sheila, and until Cindy left due to ill health (she had Piriformis syndrome, and has had two operations to rectify to it) Cindy was a Degree for 21 years which is longer than Sheila was a Degree.

sheila was not the best singer, she was just pretty..all of their voices are equally nice, I like all their voices together with all the line ups, I dont think they should give up what they love just because someone decided to leave and venture elsewhere...

I don't like how the group changed. Sheila was the best singer in the group and when she left, the group should have just gone their separate ways. By the 80s they were so much older and already had a reputation and for one of the best members to leave and then to get another person who was never famous to join at such a late stage to replace a lead singer changes the group's rep entirely like starting all over again especially at such a late age and it completely changes the attention
