I like the lead, but it sounds to me he is playing in E Minor--that flatted 3rd seems to come through to me. As far as know, Mr Merle never played a lead or a single lick in the minor (blues) scale--

Dang! How lucky I am to get to see(hear) Brian play weekends at Trout's in Bakersfield. You guys wanna see a great player it's every Fri and Sat night there. Sadly, sometimes there's as few as 5 or 10 of us there. Maybe one day I'll get to see Thom play. Hope so.
