A song by the legendary 60's psychedelic pop group the Zombies, off of their one and only album, Odessey and Oracle.

She told me she loved me

With words as soft as morning rain

But the light that fell upon me

Turned to shadow when he came...

Maybe after he's gone

She'll come back, love me again

Maybe after he's gone

She'll come back, want me again

I remember joy and pain

Her smile, her tears are part of me

I feel I'll never breathe again

I feel life's gone from me...

Maybe after he's gone

She'll come back, love me again

Maybe after he's gone

She'll come back, want me again

All the days

And all the nights

Are time just passing by

And all the dreams I'm dreaming now

Hide the tears that I cry...

I feel so cold

I'm on my own

As the night folds in around me

Night surrounds me

I'm alone...

Maybe after he's gone

She'll come back, love me again

Maybe after he's gone

She'll come back, want me again

Maybe after he's gone

She'll come back, love me again

Maybe after he's gone

She'll come back, want me again

Maybe after he's gone

She'll come back, love me again

After he's gone

She'll come back, love me again

Jesus Christ, this is by far the album of all times.I've been into '60 music since I was 14 yo, (The time I got to know Sgt. Pepper and Pet Sounds) about 34 years ago, and it's a shame this album, with all its out-of-sight songs, just passed over my head.

You need to get out of it to get into it, and into it to get out of it.

+LexMan89 You might want to do some research before you claim something. They had more albums than this one, and still write to this day..

This was not their only album, but it is a great one. IMO it compares to Sgt. Pepper and Pet Sounds !

Perhaps the saddest song ive ever heard. Upbeat melancholy is the best way to ruin my day.

I think the dislikes are coming purely from the wording in the description "..from their one and only album.." which is misleading and my cause a casual listener to miss out on the other great music this band made. Great song, though, glad to see it here for people to discover. :)

@tim n: Watching the Zombies jam?! Awesome! Your uncle Chris, is also an amazing songwriter and was an essential part of one of the most uniquely creative bands to come out of the '60s. Odessey and Oracle had such an different edge to it that made The Zombies stand alone, out and above what most artists then and now could ever hope to achieve, musically. Bless them Zombies.

love the mix and how this album has very little guitar, mostly piano bass drums and vocals

I found out that the girl I've been dating for awhile has a boyfriend already who is out of country til April... we are still sleeping together now that the truth is out, I know he doesn't know about us and I know it will end soon. She deceived me but I don't blame her, I know she loves me too. I can't help but love her. I want her to be happy, I certainly won't be the one to tell him anything... Still though.. maybe after he's gone.. I don't know. I hope we will always be friends

I think the Zombies where the best along with the Beatles and Moody Blues.
