I noticed something else about the two Eliezer's Waltzes played on the show. The Night Vale version (this one) is, as lots of people have pointed out, an actual waltz, whereas Desert Bluff's isn't. But this song is also a lie; "Lie" is the only lyric. This is thematically brilliant, because it shows the difference between the two towns. In Night Vale, the lies are generally apparent, or at least become so. You know, like in the episode where the feral dogs were running everywhere and towards the end Mayor Winchell (or was it the City Council?) insisted that the dogs had not been dogs, but plastic bags. Everyone knew, of course, that they were not plastic bags, but dogs, but pretty much either played along or forced themselves to believe the lie. But my point is, it was clearly a lie.Desert Bluffs and Strexcorp did not work that way. The lies were deeper, less apparent, not clear, just as the lie in their weather was not immediately apparent to everyone, because it was not the lyrics of the song, but rather the song itself.

This song reminds me a lot of the background music from Professor Layton.

Every time she ends on an A (note) it sounds a bit flat. I'd also like to hear more words than "lie" (or "lai").

This is in 3/4, and the Desert Bluffs' version is in 4/4... weird. On purpose?

I can just imagine Cecil and Kevin doing a [violent] waltz to this song... It's so pretty.

I think she's singing "lai", not "lie", but it works either way.

THESE tunes are why I love Night Vale's weather so much. These guys have the best taste in climate.
