You kinda have to work with the Clash. They make a lot of mistakes, but that's part of the appeal -- they're always trying to do something they don't know how to do yet. Case in point: 'Combat Rock' is almost a crappy album, except in the middle of it there's 'Straight to Hell,' a reasonable pick for the honestly best rock song of all time. I'm not a mindless fan or anything. I'm just saying.

Awsome stuff. Thanks for posting. I was big into these guys back in the early-mid '80s. I managed to see a watered down version of the band in the early '90s. Only the bassist and keyboardist remained from the original group. Still I managed to enjoy it. I wish someone would post a vid of "Ain't Nothing To It" and "The Man They Love To Hate".

saw The Stranglers at the Ritz in NYC top 5 concerts of all time. NRBQ at the Stone Pony were great too. It was playlist of FM radio that hurt them in America. Scott Muni from WNEW loved them!

best band period. of coarse i dont expect stupid americans to get their music. being american im probably one of those few out of a thousand who know the stranglers. id rather listen to an underated band than an overrated one anyway (cough the clash cough sex pistols)

'Just Like Nothing On Earth' has to be one the great weird rock lyrics, up there with 'I Am The Walrus...The Stranglers's lyrics have always been hugely underrated. Great stuff!!
