I never knew that this Shirelles B side recording influenced the early Beatles. The boys were intrigued by American R&B and their early albums also featured Tamla/Motown covers. Ringo Starr really delivered the goods when he performed this on the 50th anniversary Beatles television tribute, probably his best ever performance of this song. That said, The Shirelles original version is a classic one as well!

I like The Beatles version better, but I can see how they liked this back then. It sounds so fresh for the early 60's.

NEVER!! The Beatles improved it and stopped it from sounding girly.
