The Shangri-Las singing 'Shout' on the Lloyd Thaxton Show. This video is from February 1965. Mary would have been 16. Yes, she is miming. She's miming to her sister Betty's vocals. Betty, who isn't featured in this performance, temporarily left the group because she became pregnant. Both Mary and Betty are still alive but, unfortunately, the twins, Margie and Mary-Ann, have since passed away.

The twins' faces are obscured because it is a poor quality Kinescope-to-video recording. Sorry!

I've tried to track down this recording but can only find it from this source...from this television broadcast. I think even the sample on Amazon is this same roughrecording. My point is, this was a studio recording that was lip-synched on the show. Where is that original recording??? Is it on an expensive LP or 45 B-side?

mary is exact same yr as my mum , so ya she should be around for along time to come if she takes care of herself! She was by far and above the most ravishing beauty of the quartet , as I saw Betty in a different clip and she was pleasing to look at but IMHO not even the sme league as her younger sister! I do not care 16 is legal and I lost my virginity when I was 15 to a 19 yr old and then proceeded to do it with a 15 yr old when I was 17 , so 16 is not too young at all for sex
